Join Vanderbilt Professor Joanne Golann, author of Scripting the Moves, an inside look at a “no-excuses” charter school that reveals this educational model’s strengths and weaknesses, and how its approach shapes students. Professor Golann is an Assistant Professor of Public Policy and Education and an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Vanderbilt’s Peabody College of Education. She will be in conversation with Michael Martinez (YC 2021), a policy analyst at Child Trends whose Yale senior Sociology thesis and Education Studies capstone focused on the experiences of no-excuses graduates.
