Event description:

Join us for a Zoom conversation between Diane Trister Dodge, founder of the Creative Curriculum, and Dr. Carla Horwitz, Education Studies Lecturer and Director Emerita of Calvin Hill Day Care Center.

Diane Trister Dodge began her 50-year career in early childhood education as a preschool and kindergarten teacher. In 1966, she became the Education Coordinator for a new Head Start program in Mississippi, responsible for creating the program and training 120 teachers to serve 900 children. Recognizing the value of the curriculum guides and training materials she developed, but unable to convince established publishers to publish them, she created her own publishing company, Teaching Strategies. It became the most successful early childhoos publishing company in the United States. Diane was elected to serve on the Governing Board of NAEYC (1990-1994) and the Center for the Child Care Workforce (1995-2002). In 2010, she was inducted into the Association of Educational Publishers Hall of Fame for her lifetime contributions to education.
