Diana Cordova-Cobo

Diana Cordova-Cobo is a first generation, Latina sociologist and education researcher. She works as a Research Fellow at Student Achievement Partners, where she leads research and evaluation activities related to culturally responsive-sustaining education in K-12 schools. She also most recently served as a 2021-22 Research Scholar at the National Research Center on Hispanic Children and Families and a Research Fellow for the Inequality Project at Columbia’s Journalism School. Diana has spent the past decade working at the intersection of policy, practice, and research in the New York City metropolitan area, where her work focused on the experiences of Latinx communities with education, segregation, and gentrification. Prior to entering the research field, she was a middle school social studies teacher in the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York City. The lessons she learned from her students and the experiences they shared with her continue to motivate and inspire the work she does today. Diana holds a Ph.D. in Sociology and Education and an M.A. in Social Studies Education from Columbia University’s Teachers College, and a B.A. in Political Science with honors from the University of Florida.
