  1. The curriculum of the Education Studies Program focuses on three main pillars: theory and research, policy, and practice of education.

Looking over the Education Studies curriculum, how do you see your interests reflected and developing through a series of courses including courses you have taken, those you plan to take, and experience volunteering or interning in the education field? You can also include courses in other departments that are related.

  1. Each Education Studies Scholar is required to complete a capstone project in their junior spring and senior fall.

Please choose a past capstone project that you find compelling. Explain what interests you and connect it to your own interests in specific terms (when possible). (We are not looking for a summary. We are interested in how you are reflecting on a sample capstone in light of your own potential project.)

  1. Please share one or more ideas you have for your future capstone project. You might also include a Yale faculty member with topical expertise who could provide advising support for this project.
  2. Please elaborate on the role you would you like to play in the education field, while at Yale (this could be a current or future field experience) and after graduation. It’s fine if you aren’t sure yet and have a lot of ideas of how you would like to be involved. We would like to know where you’re at right now.
  3. Is there anything else you would like us to know about your application?

All applicants will be notified about the status of their applications in November in advance of spring registration. Questions? Contact: Associate Director, Education Studies Program.
