Teaching in the Education Studies Program

The Education Studies program occasionally has vacancies for new courses in policy and practice taught by distinguished practitioners in the education field who share their clinical expertise with students. These courses, taught on a one time basis, include courses in education pedagogy, law, journalism, and leadership.

Professional and Educational Background:

  • Practitioners generally have 5+ years of professional experinece in the education field.
  • Education Studies lecturers generally hold a terminal post-baccalaureate degree (PhD, JD, MFA, MD, or the equivalent), have experience teaching at the college or university level.
  • Exceptions are sometimes made in the case of professionals who have distinguished themselves in their chosen fields and who have five or more years of professional experience or advanced graduate students at Yale, who are actively pursuing a terminal degree and are in the final year of their graduate career.

To apply: Interested lecturers should email Faculty Director Maria Piñango maria.pinango@yale.edu and Director Dr. Mira Debs mira.debs@yale.edu with a brief query and a CV/resume. Please include in the query how the course would complement and build off existing Education Studies courses, and how it would fit into the program’s focus on theory & research, policy and practice.
